Hosting Types

I offer two kinds of hosting: domain hosting and sub-domain hosting. Domain hosting means I’ll host your domain name provided you pay for the domain name registration at Godaddy or somewhere else. The other way to do it is if you give me the money for the domain registration, and I can easily register it at Dreamhost. However, the first method is much preferred.

The second type of hosting is sub-domain hosting. This simply means that you will get a URL that looks like this: http://YOURCHOICE.DOMAIN-NAME.COM. This type does not require any form of payment. The sub-domain will be treated like a domain, but without the unique domain name. You have the choice of both Aigoo or Snarky for subdomain names, but which one is better? Honestly, it depends on the site you are planning. If it’s HP-slash related, most likely it will go to Snarky. If it’s a normal site, it will go to Aigoo.

I welcome the following: collectives, blogs, music rotation site, graphic site, writing site, portfolios, fansite, fanlistings, and etcetera. Anything that won’t be filled with illegal and inflammatory materials are welcomed to be hosted here.

Both hosting will get you the following:

• FTP Account.
• 500 megabytes of space. And it may increase — I’ve been known to increase my hostees space.
• Enough bandwidth to satisfy myself and the hostee. As in don’t abuse it and we’re fine.
• CSS, PHP, custom error pages, WordPress and etcetera.
• MySQL database if needed.
• E-mail account if needed.
• Helpful webmistress.

Hosting Rules and Requirements

• You must know how to create and maintain website. Or have a partner to do it for you. Basically, you need to know HTML and have decent skills.
• Knowing how to use FTP is the most essential thing about being hosted here.
• Illegal materials are not allowed under hosting. Ie: Warez, porn, discriminatory materials, movies, and etcetera. However, if you want to host a music rotation site, I will allow it under several conditions.
• Basically, anything that sucks my bandwidth or space will not be tolerated. Use your best judgement, and if that’s not possible, then I have every right to delete you.
