Procrast-Pseudo Arranger

March 31, 2008 @ 1:15 am

You know you are the world’s worst . . .

Procrastinator
Nerd
Musician
Lazy Arse

because of the following:

It takes you over two bloody years to finish arranging Johann Pachelbel’s Canon in D major into C major. This occurs when one is too lazy to deal with sharps and flats in their key signature. This personal project took forever to complete because for the past two years, once in a blue moon, you find the energy to plug in your keyboard and plunk it next to you to figure out the notes that needs to be “written” down. Plus, it took this long because in the past several years, you spent your time modifying and re-modifying your rendition of this overrated piece into your liking. Lastly, only a damn music nerd will understand what you have just written.

Meh. I am lame. XD Now with Pachelbel’s Canon and Chrono Cross’ “Home Arni Village” piece, I’ve “arranged” two things to add to my ever-so slowly growing repertoire. And no, before you get the wrong idea, these arranged pieces are BLOODY easy. They are not arranged at the level of Mozart. I am not that great. These were done just for fun; albeit it takes a long time to finish. X_X;;

ETA: This is all being referred to piano music.

Wordpress 2.5

This is definitely going to take some time to get used to.

. . . And I hope nothing is funky about this.

*crosses fingers and hopes everything goes well*

ETA: Well apparently LJ Crossposter is really screwed up with this version of WP. BAH.

ETA2: Like ten hours later, KAZAM, new person finds a way to make it work, and I follow up on it. WOOT.

Yatta!

March 22, 2008 @ 7:21 pm

Yesterday, my friends, Sarah and Ahmi, and I booked our Japan trip finally for May 23 ~ May 26. With the flight, hotel, taxes and fees, and travel protection fees, we each had to pay $730. We will be staying in Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu in downtown Tokyo.

The best part? I didn’t have to pay for the hotel and flight. My dad offered to pay for it as my graduation present. I only have to provide my own spending and souvenir money.

I need to start researching some stuff to do along with what we vaguely have planned. So far, we know that we want to go to Tokyo Tower, Meiji Shrine, this one temple, this Nintendo store near Ueno Park, Otome Road, Akihabara, a Kabuki Theatre place in Ginza, find an all-night karaoke place, walk around Shinjuku, Roppongi, and Shibuya, and eat foods like yakitori, katsudon, takoyaki, and etcetera.

Now I just hope we can sort out some issues. Then I can fully look forward to this awesome trip. BUT HOMG. Can I squeal with happiness, anyway?

Apollo Justice

March 17, 2008 @ 8:35 pm

I beat the game in less than a week, and I met the grand finale today at about three in the morning. Not really good since I had to wake up in three hours to go to work. Yes, I’m bloody insane.

Objection! Why is playing a game you’ve been dying to play considered insane?

*shrugs* Beats me. I guess in some people’s mind it would be insane. Anyway, may I continue with my testimony without being interrupted? I can? Thank you. Oh, by the way, this will be filled with contradictions for both the defence and the prosecutor to have a field day with, but there is a method to my madness, so may I recommend you let me finish first?

The Goods
- Hobo!Phoenix + Cryptic!Phoenix + Craptacular-Piano-Playing!Phoenix = LOVE.
- Zak and Valant Gramarye were awesome. Including the song that would pop up whenever Valant came on screen.
- Plum and “Big Wins” Kitaki were made of the win. I want Plum’s broom.
- The X-Ray machine thing in the final case was really cool to investigate with.
- Apollo’s “Objection!” theme proved to be rather addicting. XD
- I liked how the cases all connected. None of them felt like they were filler cases like *cough* the second game or case 2 and 3 of the third game.
- The whole switching between the past and the present thing in the final case was rather interesting.
- Seeing cameo characters were always nice.
- I actually liked Mr. Hat!

The Bads
- Apollo was okay, but I preferred Phoenix.
- Klavier was not Miles, Godot, or Franziska. End of story.
- Except for the last case, the other three cases felt way too short.
- In the first case, the victim seemed way out of character . . .
- The main villain seemed way too one-dimensional. I felt as if the character’s back story was not strong enough to prove to me why they acted like that.
- Ema and Trucy were a tad bit annoying.
- The Judge was still his dense self.

The Uglies
- Seriously. Apollo bloody Justice? Could they not come up with a better name?
- WTF. The final case was awesome until it reached the end. They left so many questions unanswered. Capcom better make a damn sequel to this.
- WTF, Phoenix. What was with the grape juice?!
- WHERE WAS MY MILES EDGEWORTH!? (*$#)_*#$_))#$)(*_*)#$

Conclusion
I. Want. Gyakuten. Saiban. Five. NOW. On a more coherent note, it was actually interesting, and even though I had my doubts on playing as a new protagonist, it worked out decently. However, I wished this game tied in with the previous three games, especially like the Fey sisters (as much as they annoyed me) and MILES.

Defence and Prosecutor’s Response
. . . No objection, your honour. This testimony proves that the witness is a very demented girl.

Totally Random Note
My tax refund came in. Must go cash it, and buy some grape juice stuff!

Mis-sent Takes a Week

March 11, 2008 @ 7:59 pm

I finally received that MIA-ed package of Apollo Justice.

Apparently, last week, it was mis-sent to some area of Camp Coiner, and it took a bloody week to make it back to Yongsan.

*dryly* How sad is it that when Camp Coiner is really an adjoining base of Yongsan? It’s not like the sodding package was sent to another place on the peninsula, but to a neighbouring base, mere minutes away! BAH. I will never understand how the post works.

Oh well. At least I finally can play that game.
