Wii Dilemma

November 28, 2007 @ 10:17 pm (Permalink)

Upon arriving home today after class, and after calling my mother who’s away in the country for a while, the following conversations occurred.

Daddy: Something strange fell in my lap today.

Me: *makes a non-committal noise as she’s occupied on the computer and then realises Daddy is talking* Huh? What?

D: Something strange fell in my lap today. *comes to the computer room with a bag holding what looked like a Nintendo Wii.

M: *mouth drops open and hands automatically go to grab it* Wha–? How –?!

(Keep in mind that the Wii is impossible to obtain here. Last holiday season and for this holiday season, the base PX is holding a drawing for the Wii… and whoever wins gets to purchase the few systems they have).

D: A man who works with me somehow won two of these. However, he needed money to go on a business trip tomorrow and decided to sell one. I told him that I’d take it and give him the money and blahblahblah.

M: *mouth is still wide open* I want it!

D: I’d rather you sell it to a friend who may want it.

M: B-b-but… WHY?!

D: Because I’d rather get you a PlayStation 3.

M: O_____________O;;;; But that’s more expensive THAN the Wii.

D: Yes, but with the Wii, you have no games for it and you’d have to pay money to buy those games anyway. Whereas with a PlayStation 3, you can play with the games you already have.

M: If we get the one that is backward compatible. *ponders* But I still want it!!!!

D: Well, think about it for a while. You don’t have to decide tonight.

// END CONVERSATION

BLARGHHHHHHHHHHHH! DILEMMA! Oh what a travesty! It is shocking that this happened, and it is even more shocking that my dad is willing to buy me a PlayStation 3.

…But he does have a point. And most of the games that do come out for Nintendo are games I am not really interested in. I mean, I know I will eventually own a Wii, but I also want a PS3, too.

…But I do need a new PlayStation, regardless. While my fat PS2 still do work, I know it will kaput on me one of these days… and it’s either buy another PS2 or just get the sodding PS3.

…But I do have a friend I know who wouldn’t mind buying the Wii off us… >_<;; Oh, WHY does this always happen to me!

- I will not curse anybody to the Andromeda galaxy more than once.
- I will scream and punch something solid once in a while so I do not bottle up my frustrations.

- I will party and get blasted on that faithful day of December 22, 2007.

P.S. — Yes this blog author has no life whatsoever. She is slowly going demented in the process of struggling through her last three classes with the combination of work. She will most definitely go through a long healing and recuperating process of not taking any single classes from six months to a year. With that extra spare time, she will catch up on sleep, on her video games, on her books, on her animes, on her movies, and on her sanity.

P.P.S — For the first time ever, in college, I have flunked a portion of my midterm in an English class. (No flunking my College Algebra exams do not count) I received a grand total of 48% on my objective part of the Shakespeare midterm. On that portion we were given passages from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Richard II, and Romeo and Juliet, and we had to identify which character said the passages.

Luckily, the majority of the class did horrid on that portion, so my professor decided to drop that grade. What’s funnier is that I aced the subjective part of my midterm: the essay portion. I totally butchered the concept of the Shakespearean definition of love saying that it was fickle. I received an A on that. I fucking rule in both aspect of flunking and ace-ing my midterm.

First Snow of 2007

November 19, 2007 @ 9:41 pm (Permalink)

Well, it’s more like snow-rain, but it’s still counted as snow, right?

Too bad I’m still sick to enjoy it. Otherwise, I’d be outside right now enjoying the said snow-rain.

…Damn you, cough, go away!!!! A plague on all ye bacterias and viruses in the world. And yes, Shakespeare is on my brain.

Losing My Voice

November 16, 2007 @ 6:13 pm (Permalink)

I’ve been sick since Sunday.

On Tuesday, my sinuses felt sore.

On Wednesday, the soreness moved to my throat.

Yesterday, I was coughing like a dog.

Today, I just could not talk. My voice sounded hoarse and it would not go loud as I wanted it to. I’ve always wondered what it felt like to get laryngitis or something. While I didn’t entirely lose my voice today, I think I now know what it feels like. Beside having a semi-laryngitis with my job, where I have to raise my voice to be heard over loud preschooler, is not exactly fun. I could not get any group disciplining done today with this voice of mine.

…And I still feel awful. To the point that I even skipped my make-up class, and if you know me, I RARELY skip classes. But I need my rest… I am so sick of being ill. I want this to go away before it lands me in the hospital or something.

Now I want to skip my Asian Philosophy class tomorrow.

PX Brightens My Day

November 13, 2007 @ 6:39 pm (Permalink)

I left work today really depressed and exhausted.

I arrived at the PX to feel energised and happy.

After three weeks of impatient waiting, they finally had Phoenix Wright 3. Oh man, I thought that game would never get here, but it finally got here. Too bad I don’t have any friggin’ time to play it, though. *sighs*

*looks at December 22 unhappily* That date needs to hurry up and come!
