Suiko Gaming

June 28, 2007 @ 11:09 am (Permalink)

I’m really living up my lazy summer days by gaming. Yesterday, I started playing Suikoden IV. It’s too early to tell what my full verdict is of the game, but so far it’s alright. If I wasn’t a fan of the series, I’d not be playing it.

I decided to purchase Suikoden Tactics for $17.95 (new game+soundtrack of some sort+shipping). Yes, I’m a fan of this series. To me, this is my Final Fantasy or Dragon Warriors/Quest. I thought that was a good deal and cheap, so hence my purchase.

Speaking of purchase, I still haven’t heard from that company about my bookless package. If I don’t hear from them by tomorrow or Saturday, I shall be directly contacting Amazon about this and do all that file for reimbursement crap. *sighs*

I’ve Been Robbed?

June 25, 2007 @ 6:30 pm (Permalink)

At least that’s what it looks like…

Basically what happened was that I ordered two books from one of the sellers on Amazon Marketplace. I estimated that I would get the package today, and indeed I got the package. A rather FLAT package, that is.

Yes, it was EMPTY. I opened it and peeked in and saw a huge gash on the side of the package, where a USPS tape was covering it. There was also a stamp on the package that said, “Received in bad condition: June 22.”

… WTF. Either someone intentionally ripped the package and stole it at one of the stops it was at, or it was just badly handled and the package ripped and the books fell out somewhere on its way. I’m guessing it was the second option since the package looks like it went through hell… it looks like it even got wet and all that!

I am NOT a happy buyer at the moment. Whatever the case is, I hope I get my money back. I’ve contacted the seller, so we’ll see what happens.

… But dude, if someone DID steal the books, I hope they enjoy my two Baby-Sitters Club book. $#_)*_)*$_)#_)$_)#$__*)#$_ BLARGH!!!!!!!!!!

Lazy Summer Days

June 21, 2007 @ 7:46 pm (Permalink)

It feels so weird having all these free time on my hands. I mean, this is the first summer since 2003 where I almost feel like it’s one of those high school students summer rather than a working, college student summer. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I still have class on Saturdays, but… with six out of seven days free, it’s almost amazing how much difference this is compared to the last few summers.

How strange is it that previously if I had three days in a row of doing nothing, I enjoyed it. Now, after one day of bumming around, I turn antsy. I need to do something, something active. Luckily I hang out with my friends to keep me busy, but even then, with the few friends left for the summer, where majority of them are busy, unlike me, it’s hard trying to coordinate meetings with each other.

Sure, I have piles of movies and books to keep me company, but some days, I just feel so darn lazy that I just sit and stare at the computer screen instead of doing anything productive! I seriously need a job. I so need to be up and moving, doing something to pass the time. Oi! I’m going to go insane soon, at the rate I’m going. XD Oh well.

Pseudo-Vacation

June 15, 2007 @ 8:01 pm (Permalink)

Today begins the official summer vacation for the school I work at. So no more subbing for two months. Yay. I can regain my sanity. Not. It’s not going to be much of a vacation in my opinion. Aside from taking that Saturday Jazz class and writing a 10-15 page paper by July 28, the main thing on my agenda is…

Dun. Dun. Dun…….. Find a new job. Oi. X_X;; I already applied to several places, got rejected from a bunch of them, but I did get a interview this week. Not sure if I’ll get a callback, though. I am not too torn up on the rejections, but I seriously need to find a new job by December, and already I am somewhat panicking.

But to look on the bright side, I’m hoping this abundance of free time will allow me to catch up on doing a bunch of stuff like:

* Read Galapagos, Cat’s Cradle, and Slapstick by Kurt Vonnegut.
* Read All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque.
* Read A Room with a View and finish up Maurice by E.M. Forster
* Finish up 1984 by George Orwell and other books that I am bound to want to read.
* Finish up Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time and Phantasy Star IV, both of which I am close to completing.
* Start on other games like Star Ocean 3, Phoenix Wright I and II, Ar Tonelico, Suikoden IV, and other games I cannot remember.
* Watch a heck of a lot of animes and movies.
* Read a bunch of mangas.
* And whatever website related stuff I need to do….

Along with those for my summer agenda, I HAVE TO READ the last Harry Potter book. July 21… HURRY UP!

SAHS c/o 2007

June 9, 2007 @ 8:20 pm (Permalink)

Now another new slew of optimistic and pumped up graduates come out of SAHS. I decided to skip my morning portion of my class to play the tuba part, all quarter notes — making it boring as heck, on the keyboard for the band. It was weird sitting there, watching the graduation today. I just realised that it’s already been four years since my own high school graduation. Seeing this year’s class graduate was just strange. Maybe not strange, per say, but more like surreal.

For those of the students who have attended SAHS all four years and at one point been in the music department, they’ve been with me for all four years of my subbing careers. It’s odd how I have seen many of them just change from uppity (some, not all) freshmen to mature-yet-suffering-from-senioritis young men and women. Amazing how the last four years just flew by.

Regardless of all these philosophical mumbo jumbos, I wish them all my heartfelt congratulations to them. Despite how … some of them annoyed me at some point in the last four years, I wish them the best in their post-high school lives. As much as I want them to go experience their new beginnings, it will be sad not seeing them next year at the high school. The familiar faces won’t be in the hallways or classrooms any more.

Life goes on, though. Once again, Congratulations class of 2007. Good luck in college or whatever else you will do this summer and fall. You guys all made it. ^_^
