Christmas 2006

December 25, 2006 @ 11:07 pm

I spent Christmas Eve, last night, watching Charlotte’s Web. I had low expectations of that movie, but I was thoroughly impressed with it. And I even created a new fl to Tir McDohl.

Then, after midnight today, I helped take care of my sick mum. I finally fell asleep at 3:30 am. I woke up at 11, and I got online, did my stuff, help around when I was needed, and finally vacuum my room.

I had invited Sarah to come have a Christmas dinner with us since she lived by herself. She came around 6, and we fooled around with Zelda and some of the games on Sega Genesis Collection. It seemed like it was well emulated, which I was happy about.

After the dinner, she and I walked around Itaewon, spending thirty minutes looking for 3 Alley Pub. After we found it, we decided to check out Bungalow…where I heard they had chairs and tables on top of sand. Well, that part was true, but we didn’t expect the drinks to be expensive and also be taxed upon.

Oh well. All in all, it was a strange Christmas this year. It just did not feel Christmasy at all. Ah well. Happy Christmas to everyone else, though!

Winter Break 2006

December 24, 2006 @ 12:33 am

No more school for a month! …Till Jan 22.

No more work for two weeks! …Till Jan 8.

I am freeeeeeee! Yet I still have a lot to do. x_x;; BAH!

Things to Accomplish by January 22
* Watch a bunch of movies. (The Godfather Trilogy, Swing Girls, Gohatto, The King and the Clown, Moonchild, Troy, Magnificent Seven, Harry Potter 3 and 4, Water Boys, Yasha, and others.)

* Watch a bunch of animes. (Future Boy Conan, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Meine Liebe, Meine Liebe Wieder, Gankutsuou, Kyou Kara Maoh, Last Exile, Tactics, Tsubasa Chronicles, X, and others.)

* At least play some games. (Star Ocean 3, Tales of the Abyss, Valkyrie Profiles 1 and 2, Phantasy Star II and IV, and whatever else.)

* Read mangas.
* Make Tir McDohl fanlisting SOON.
* Register for classes.
* And whatever else I need to do.

GAH, busy busy busy. Ah well! It’s kinda odd that I keep thinking I am not on winter break…and that I am still taking classes and working. Must get out of that mentality!

And it’s Christmas Eve?! It sure doesn’t feel like it. I guess part of the reason is because break started so late this year. Normally work and school gets out by December 17? But this year… yeah, it came late. I plan to spend the break very…wisely! ^_^

Happy, Nostalgic Gamer

December 22, 2006 @ 6:39 pm

Who’s going to be a happy gamer travelling down memory lane? Me! I went to the PX after working out, and I discovered they had this:

Sega Genesis Collection

I mainly wanted this just for the Phantasy Star II, and IV. I *heart* Phantasy Star IV

I shall be attacking my PlayStation 2 with this game now…

But first…study for my history exam tomorrow. X_X;;

Term 3 Classes Debate

December 13, 2006 @ 10:29 pm

I. Am. Not. Happy. With. This. Upcoming. Term’s. Schedule.

I seriously am not. Here I am, with nine more classes to go before I complete my BA, and I am struggling to find classes that I can take. These are my choices…and do excuse the military time.

Face-to-Face Classes ~ January 22 to March 17
* BMGT 380: Business Law I @ Tues/Thurs 1800 ~ 2100
* ENGL 388Wa: Bible as Literature @ Sat 0900 ~ 1600
Business Law textbook cost $135.00 #&*$#()$#)#$)*)#$ *inserts angry face*

Online Classes ~ January 29 to April 29
* HUMN 334: Understanding Movies (Have to rent or buy eight movies X_X;; including the textbook)
* JAPN 334: Japanese Life and Culture II
* SOCY 300: American Society

AUGH! Yes, I can just take the two face-to-face classes and have no problems with it, but I swore to myself that I’d NEVER take a business, accounting, economic, or management classes, and Business Law does not cut out for me at all! Not to mention, LAW?! Government in itself is a foreign concept that I will never grasp in my lifetime. Plus, the book’s price nearly gave me a heart attack today when I looked it up online.

The choice of the English class thrills me just as much as I want to go get a flu shot. Bible as Literature? For an Atheist like me? For someone who don’t even have a clue on reading that book? GROWL! Unfortunately, I will end up taking it…no choice there, really, since that’s my freaking major.

As for the online classes, they are pure evil, and to be considered a full-time student, I have to take one face-to-face and TWO of those. The workload is extremely brutal (especially if taking more than one), and it’s so long compared to face-to-face class. Twelve weeks?! Okay, maybe the movie one won’t be so bad, but…nine movies? And most of it are old stuff? *sighs*

I honestly could take four classes next term (and die in the process) and then I can be eligible to walk at the May commemoration, but I know what will happen if I end up doing that. I will end up crying, breaking down, and obtaining B or below to ruin my GPA. Oh, and I will have no life between doing that and still doing my volunteering/subbing. All the consequences would suck, so I think I shall stick with two or three classes a term thing…even though I really want to graduate by May.

Great choices, huh? Not in my opinions. Maybe I will take my dad’s advice and go demand for more upper-level electives that are not business-oriented.
