Summer Vacay Start!

July 29, 2006 @ 8:27 pm

YAY! Bye bye Romantic to Early Modern British Literature! Hello PARTY TIME! XD XD Time to get some boogie down for till end of August!

Okay. Maybe not boogie-ing, but I’m definitely gonna do some relaxation, some anime marathons, Japanese tv show marathons, manga reading marathons, and regular movie marathons. And add in some game playing if I can fit it in there.

Joy to me! Time to be a couch potato! …More like swivel chair potato. Don’t have a couch in front of the PC or in my room. XD

I seriously hope I can watch stuff that’s been piling up for the last six months. x_x;; Okay, back to watching animes for me.

Chinese Movies and Animes

July 27, 2006 @ 12:19 am

The past two days been real fun…watching movies and animes does not rot ones brain. I guess Heather’s comment is right… I am made of steel. XD Yesterday, I watched two Chinese movies. Today? I watched a 12-eps anime series. Four of them in the early afternoon and the rest after I got back home from running an errand. Here’s a brief reflection about them.

Enter the Phoenix (Daai lo oi mei lai)
As I diversify myself into other countries’ movie, it’s quite pleasing to find a winner among them. I really enjoyed this one very much. The humour within the character interactions were awesome. I loved the father/son duo, Kin and #8 dude. It’s funny how Daniel Wu and Stephen Fung are pretty much enemies in the movie… but yet, in another movie they starred together, they were playing each other’s lover. Very ironic. XD All in all, this was funny, well-done, and well-paced. This one is in Cantonese…the next movie is in Mandarin. I cannot distinguish them at all.

Lan Yu
…I cannot say much about this movie since the one I was watching had SHITTY picture qualities. I did not enjoy this movie much compared to the Phoenix one. I kept on looking at the time to see how much longer this movie was! …Maybe if the picture was better, I’d have enjoyed it more. x_x;; The plot was an interesting one though, but it just did not come out properly to be a real blockbuster winning film for me.

Princess Princess
Bwahahaha! Cross-dressing boys in Lolita-style outfits is just beautiful. XD It’s amazing and sad that sometimes men dressed in female clothings look better than the females themselves. This anime was no exception…the three Princesses were very pretty. XD Ahh… the things they would do to boost up morale in their school. :3 Of course, Mikoto has some convincing to do. Anyways, this anime was quite charming in its own way. Sayaka ticked me off… she was pointless. XD Sakamoto’s family is … quite strange indeed. Oi. Although this is not the best anime I’ve watched recently, it’s still watchable.

*DIES* Now, I really should focus on that comparison/contrast essay on Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” and Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness. Must churn out three page of pretty much bullshite to turn in by Saturday. But, ah! So much distraction! So much to watch! T.T

July 24, 2006 @ 9:05 pm

Five more days till my summer break officially starts!!! Can’t wait! …First I have to get through my damn English essay and final exam. At least I have more time to focus on that since I pretty much got fired at my job. Oh vey. Long story there. Stupid reason to get fired in the first place. Oh well.

Gakuen Heaven Marathon

July 20, 2006 @ 12:23 am

Starting last night and today when I came home from a very long day of going to work and running errands, I watched the 13 episodes anime, Gakuen Heaven.

KYAAAAAH! I loved it! I had probably the most goofiest, cornball smile on my face watching every single episodes. And since this was a typical BL (Boy Love) anime, my shounen-ai/slash/yaoi raydar was going off the rocket in every imaginable ways. Countless number of bishounens constitutes unlimited amount of pairings. GUH.

Okay, so having too many bishounens confused me for a while. It took me up to about the fifth episode to remember who’s who and all that. I actually loved 99% of the characters in this anime though. Okay, minus the Vice-Chairman and the twins on most occasion.

My favourite in no particular order are: Niwa (King) was awesome. I mean anybody who throws a party at a BATH HOUSE is just plain cool; Omi for his hacking skills and his seiyuu had the most sexiest voice ever; and Shunsuke…his voice, his accent was too cute, and I loved his hero worship of Niwa. All of the characters were good, but those are my top three favourite.

The plot was kind of weak for me, but the humour, the character interaction, and my undying curiosity to see what the hell was going on with Kazuki made up for it. While this is way better in terms of Loveless in answering most of my questions and not leaving me in the damn dark, there is still one thing I don’t understand. Oh well. XD I did wished for more “actions” to go on, but those innuendos at the beginning of the earlier episodes cracked me up. Yes, my mind is tainted and dirty. Bwahaha.

The Ham-Ham Heaven was pure crack. Normally I skipped those part where it shows sneak peek for the next eps, but with these, I had to watch it. The way they’d end their sentences with -hamu was funny and cute. All in all, it was a cute series with many drool-worthy bishounens, and as a yaoi fangirl, I was in heaven myself!

FL, Holiday, Rain, GC Games

July 17, 2006 @ 2:08 pm

Tobias Fanlisting
Tobias fanlisting is up and ready to be joined. With this proclaimation, I am proud to say that I am finally the owners of all three of my favourite Animorphs trio that concludes of Tobias, Ax, and Marco. Yowza! XD I love my boys.

Holiday
So today’s a Korean holiday. Fantastic, eh? NO WAY. I was not told it was a holiday, so I wasted three hours today going to the academy I work at thinking it was a normal day. When I arrived there, the door was locked, and then I called my mum and friend and they said it was a holiday. #$(*$#_)#$_) I went back later, and it was open, but the bosses were only there for a quick meeting. My own boss didn’t even know it was a holiday too, so therefore, he did not tell me ahead of time. BLARGH. That pissed me off royally. Since I don’t get paid for holidays, now I have to fit the extra five hours into the next three days to avoid coming in on Friday. Fun. Not.

Rain
Monsoon season = Rains. Too much rains = Han River being flooded. I had ridden over Banpo bridge twice today, and it was quite… disheartening to see the river even more dirtier than ever, and to see the tunnel below the bridge washed out and the Hangang Park underwater as well. I think the rain has been coming for almost a week now, and thankfully it looks like it will clear up soon. Yay. I am sick of lugging an umbrella around. x_x;;

Gamecube Gaming
The last couple days I’ve been exploring my GC games that I got when I purchased the GC from my friend. I’ve tried out Soul Calibur II, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Disney’s Magical Mirror feat. Mickey Mouse, and Skies of Arcadia Legends. My verdicts so far? Soul Calibur was fun. Mickey Mouse was kinda fun. FFCC was difficult as hell. At least for me. I’m used to having three other characters backing me up or something, and here I am alone in FFCC with only a damn Moogle carrying the damn chalice for me. Trying to fight the enemies by myself was not a easy task for me. Oi. Screw that game. Great graphics, but not much fun gameplay and storyline.

However, I have a new love and that new love is called Skies of Arcadia Legends. It’s turn-based, I am riding an awesome airship, there’s a neat magic system, great characters, intriguing storyline, and etcetera. I am only like 5% into the game, and I love it. XD GUH! Why did I not play this game sooner?! Speaking of which, now that I am done with all the stuff I had to do on the PC, I am going to go eat and play more SoAL! *HEART*
