Salvation

May 27, 2006 @ 7:58 pm (Permalink)

For the first time this month, I am truly happy and burden-free. Today marked my last day of Psychology class. While I loved the class and the people there, I am just glad it’s over. My paper is done and my exam as well.

I decided to drop that JavaScript class. I just cannot handle it, and I am so far behind understanding the concept anyway. I am not happy about the decision, but I felt like I had no choice.

Well, now I have a one week break from school. I am enthusiastic for that. However, my schedule will still be busy next week… just not as hectic as this entire month with school work added into it. :3 I am so going to enjoy this break. *screams with joy* NO MORE EVIL MATH! I am free from the un-needed angst in my life!

Hell Week and Catching Up

May 22, 2006 @ 10:42 pm (Permalink)

Yes, HELL WEEK. Actually, this is the Part 2 of my hell weeks that began last week. Last week, from Monday to Saturday, I survived with 24 hours of sleep. I hope this week will be a bit more than that.

This hell week, I have my math final exam on Wednesday, psychology final exam on Saturday along with the research paper, and my online class Javascript assignment due Sunday. I’ve rediscovered something that I’ve known since my senior year of high school. I HATE PROGRAMMING. That includes Javascript. Give me XHTML/CSS over Javascript, Visual Basic, Java, and DHTML anytime, anyday. I cannot wait till this week is done with. I could use that one week break from school, even if it means I am not getting any days off in terms of work.

On a happier side, I finally got all my packages up to today. Suikoden 5 came in the mail, and I can’t wait till I play it. XD Along with Suikoden 4 if my friend remembers to bring it with him… Ah, happy gamer I am!

And the mangas I ordered I have read all of them: Sweet Revolution and Yellow 1-3. Along with the novelisation of Only the Ring Finger Knows, I am satisfied with my level of new slashiness. ^_^

Well, enough babbling. I have to start on my research paper.

Address Issues

May 17, 2006 @ 10:09 pm (Permalink)

Various people are so against me this year in terms of mailing stuff to me. I would like to know why I am suddenly bombarded by people who keeps on screwing up my snail mail address?!

Remember that whole issue with my transcript not arriving on time from my Uni for the scholarship I was applying? The Uni folks had typoed my address causing it to not arrive in a week.

I ordered a package from somewhere, and they totally messed up my address causing it to not come till like three months late.

And now? On May 2, I ordered from two different places. Place A shipped a day earlier than Place B. Both of them are expedited speed. Place B’s package came within the proper time frame. Place A’s package arrived yesterday or today. The package had a lovely message on there that said “miss sent to Box 30.” I gawked at that, and then I saw that the company had inputed extra four digits to my zip code.

*CRASH* Okay. Maybe that extra four digits had nothing to do with it being missent to the wrong box. Maybe the military people misread my address and just made a mistake. But after my last two unpleasant experience where people keep messing up my address, and seeing that they did add those extra digit, it’s so easy to assume the company made a mistake.

Seriously, though, maybe I am cursed this year in terms of people not getting my address right. Strangely enough, Amazon does NOT screw up my address, and I get their packages right on time. The other places all print out my address the way it’s submitted, so I don’t know WHY they cannot be accurate. *sighs*

I am still expecting two more packages. I pray that my package containing Suikoden 5 do NOT get lost and come two months later. Unfortunately for me, they are from third party sellers. And even worse, the third party sellers are the ones who keep screwing up my address. *dies*

Anyways, I am happy to say that my Animorphs series is finally completed, and I got three new movies on dvds. They are: Beautiful Thing, Bent, and Brassed Off. Those are going to my “DVDs to watch” pile which is growing way too big. >_<;;

UMUC Graduation 2006

May 14, 2006 @ 11:48 pm (Permalink)

Today was the commencement day for Korea division of UMUC’s graduation. I only went to see my friend Jacquie graduate today. Oh and to hear the lovely string ensemble perform. ^_^

The graduation was kinda stupid this year. It felt more like a damn pep rally then anything else. It did not feel formal at all. x_x;; After I saw Jacquie walk up and get her “mock diploma”, I left to go seek out sanctuary in the band room and played the piano till it was over. Once over, I found Jacquie and then after some photo shoot, we went to Dragon Hill Lodge for the reception. Not bad of a food this time.

Then Jacquie’s family, Dave, Dale, Craig and I went to Sortino’s in Itaewon. We had a great Italian meal. Then Jacquie, Dale, Craig, and I went to Bless U to really celebrate. It was great fun. We had a nice number of drinks, with great music (where Dale and I created a playlist) and Craig and Jacquie played dart.

At 11 we called it quits since some of us still have work tomorrow, me in particular waking up at 6 am. x_x;;

I can’t wait till I get that stupid piece of paper proclaiming that I am a college graduate now…36 more credits to go. AUGH! Speaking of school, I discovered that I have less crap to work on this week for my Psychology class. While I still have my portfolio stuff to finish up, my research paper isn’t due till the last day of class on May 27. I think I can survive next week now. ^_^

Another One Rides the Bus

May 11, 2006 @ 9:43 pm (Permalink)

It’s a good thing I don’t experience motion sickness. Otherwise, I would have already puked on the buses many times by now.

Yes, I feel like I am living on a bus now. My new part-time job at Daechi-dong requires me to commute through an hour of Seoul’s traffic at least twice a week. Keep in mind, that’s 2+ hours a day for a roundtrip. Not fun. And then there’s that 2+ hours I spend on the bus on Saturdays going to Osan and coming back. Public transportation…gotta love ‘em.

At least the trip to Daechi-dong is waaaaaaaay cheaper than my Osan one. It cost me $1.60 for a roundtrip to Daechi-dong and $9.20 for a roundtrip to Osan. That’s a huge difference. o_O I didn’t realise that till now. Ouch. Ah well.

Like I said, I am glad I do not get carsick. That would utterly suck for someone who has to commute often!
