GC Memory Card, Corpse Bride, & Lots of Schoolwork

November 27, 2005 @ 10:58 pm

I’m mad at the PX. When I finally decide to go buy a GC memory card, they ran out and claims they are not gonna stock anymore. WTF.

I saw Corpse Bride. Liked it way better than Nightmare Before Christmas. Loved the piano music from the movies. Victor is such a cutie for … a “clay” figure. I really enjoyed this movie. It was the perfect length. I want the soundtrack now. Me wants it, precious. Johnny Depp’s voice was pure sex in that movie. Nuff said.

Upcoming agendas regarding School Work.

* CMST385 Week 5 Questions
* CMST385 Week 6 Questions
* CMST385 Assignment 2
* CMST385 Week 7 Questions
* MUSC130 Term Paper
* MUSC130 Final Exam
* ENGL439I Term Paper
* ENGL439I Presentation
* ENGL439I Final Exam
* Lotsa reading for ENGL439I

AUGH!!! That’s all gotta be done on various days between now and Dec 18, that day being the last day of face-to-face classes and SAHS starts winter break. And in between that, I have to write fanfics and upload a bunch of songs for my mp3 rotation site.

What suck is that I tried not to procrastinate and still I somehow managed to get myself in a cramming mode. >_<;;

FF7 AC, Harold & Kumar, Beetlejuice, Charlie Bucket

November 25, 2005 @ 10:09 pm

In the past 24 hours, these are the movies/animes I’ve watched.

* Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children
* Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
* Beetlejuice
* Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)

Here’s a short review for each of them.

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children
For those of you knows me, I never played FF7. Well, to be exact, I did. I played the first five minutes of it, got bored with it, turned the damn PSX off, and never returned to it. After seeing this movie/anime though, I want to play the sodding game now. It intrigued me. And Reno. OMG. Because of him and Rufus, I want to play it just because they are fucking hot and awesome. Really though, the graphics were SUPERB in this movie. I saw snippets of it at the PX couple days ago, and I was like holy shite, I gotta watch it NOW. I did, and I was very impressed with it. There were some parts where I seriously could not tell that it was all CG animated. Damn. This movie seriously rocked my socks.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
This comedy ruled. I could not stop laughing in this movie. This is one of the best comedies I’ve seen lately. The guys who played Harold and Kumar did a wonderful job on this. I just cannot believe that these two stoners would spend all night trying to get some damn hamburgers and fries though. Yet that was what made the entire movie bizarre and enjoyable at the same time. It maybe stereotypically insulting at some point, but I can ignore those and still enjoy it. I still think the funniest part was when Neil Patrick Harris steals Harold’s car though…

Beetlejuice
As much as I love Tim Burton, I think this was one of his weakest movies out there. I mean, it still had his usual gothic-ness to it, but…it just didn’t feel like his other movies. It has its level of weirdness in this movie, and I liked it, but…Beetlejuice was not even in the movie that much! Grrr. I wanted him to be in it more. And man, the way those two couple died in the beginning. I was just like, “HUH?!” This entire movie was pretty anti-climatic. I say that the set designs, special effects, and the music were the only things I really liked in this movie.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
OMG! A much more true adaptation of the book! I was so happy about that! Oh of course, Wonka’s back story was not in the book, but I felt like they were well added scenes. Compared to the old Chocolate Factory movie, this one was just way better. And the Oompa-Loompas did not freak me out in this one. While Johnny Depp did a good job portraying Wonka, I felt like something was amiss. I mean he was brilliant when he did Jack Sparrow, but here…the magic of it was missing. He just didn’t seem to really put everything into it. That’s just me. After watching two movies where food is an issue, I was seriously craving for some burgers and chocolates.

Yep. I really enjoyed my movie/anime session. The last three movies were seen at my friend’s house who I spent the night at. It was fun. We had a lot of tummy aches from laughing that’s for sure. ^^

November 24, 2005 @ 4:19 pm

Just wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for many things. Many things such as:

* My parents who put up with me in the house.
* My friends who keep me sane through my hectic working/school life.
* The teachers who allow me to sub for them.
* My computer!!!
* My video games/animes/mangas.
* And just for being alive.

^_^ Hee hee. My Thanksgiving plans is to spend the night at a friend’s house, doing anime/video game marathons. Woot.

And erm… I don’t know what’s up with my Wordpress, but if your comments are being treated like spams or whatnot, please ignore that. I check the spam section a lot, and I know how to change it from spam to non-spam crap in the MYSQL, so just wait and your comments will show up. *kicks her blogging programme for being picky* Just letting you guys know that.

Alvin and the Chipmunk with Tales of S/P on the Side

November 17, 2005 @ 11:55 pm

I purchased their Christmas Album, and ‘oly shite, they are funny as HELL. Especially the conversations with Dave.

Even though their voices are quite on the squeaky side, it really appeals to me. I don’t know why it is so, but it’s just cute. Brings me back memories of that Chipmunk movie I saw, and I think I still have. Now I want to watch it x_x;; Due to lack of time though, I can’t.

Speaking of lack of time, this week, and next week I will be busy as heck. Can’t wait till the Thanksgiving weekend…even though it’s shortened from four days to three days for me. Thanks to my lovely Sunday class. Which will also be the midterm exam. Boo!

I finally got to the second disc of Tales of Symphonia. Woot! Finally. Took forever. Disc 1 was long as fuck. I can’t wait till I beat the game. It’d be nice to beat a game…something I haven’t done for a while. Replaying Suikoden 1 and 2 doesn’t count.

And speaking of games, I am so mad. Tales of Phantasia has never been translated into English. It came out on the Super Famicon and PSX in Japan, but never to the states. Well, I read news that they will finally bring ToP to stateside. Guess what system? You would think that since I have three goddamn video game systems, I’d have a good chance. Nope. It’s coming out on Nintendo Advance. WTF. That is so not fair. The world of business is practically gonna force me into getting that for one damn game?! AUGH!

…Then again maybe it won’t come out. x_x;; Aigoo. If only it came out on PSX, GC, or PS2!!! Video gaming is an expensive hobby the more I think about it. Money hungry mongers out there are greedy like pigs. Which includes me… Haha. XD Oh well…we’ll see. ^_^
