The Impact of Music
January 31, 2005 @ 11:41 pm (Permalink)
Right now, I’m listening to the main theme from October Sky. Great movie but that’s not what this entyr is about.
It’s amazing how much impact a song has on me these days. Like, right now, the theme. It’s bringing tears to my eyes. The somber yet mellow violin solo in this song just gets to me. It’s really a gorgeous piece. Makes me want to get the whole soundtrack, but Amazon ran out. And I am NOT paying 40 bucks for a used one. Hell no.
Today was the KAIAC String/Orchestra concert. Well, Concerto Grosso was indeed… gross. But the other songs, the Heredides (sp?) was simply powerful. The arrangement of Gershwin’s An American in Paris was whimisical. And the Middle School strings was actually great too. I was impressed by them.
But music… I don’t think I’ll be able to live without it. It’s like… without it, I’ll be like Heero Yuy from Gundam Wing. I’ll be an robot with no emotions, no feelings whatsoever. Music brings it out for me though. Like last night. I caught a movie on the television, and it was a Korean movie. Pretty interesting, but I noticed something: NO MUSIC. WTF? All I heard was cars passing by in the background. That’s it. x_x;; I was like… this movie needs some damn music to spice things up!
I have no clue when I became so into music. It’s almost scary how I’m becoming one with it almost.
But enough with that. I got a rough draft to write. A short story for ENGL 294. *sighs* At least I have music. That’s all it matters.
Happy Crappy Birthday, TC

Yeap. Here’s what happened.
Monday: Started coughing lightly at the beginning and by the time I went to bed, coughing became shittier.
Tuesday: Still coughing, and throat hurt. Had to go in to sub all week and classes also started. In 2nd period, Strings played an early Happy Birthday to me. I felt loved. As the day went on, I became worse and worse. Finally at the end of HS, I found this one lady who I knew was gonna sub later on for Mrs. Lee, I asked her to if she could sub for me tomorrow, thinking I only needed a day to recuperate. She agreed. I still had to go to class, so had to wait till I signed in Kat. She’s cool. By then, I was feverish and dizzy. Kat and I left class early. I got home and mum took care of me.
Wednesday: My birthday. I was feeling no better at all. Yuck. My aunt and her son came by and bought me cake. I blew out the candles, with the help of my mum, and then I continued to rest and take meds.
Thursday: Not getting anywhere near well. So I finally caved into my mum’s and aunt’s idea about going to a Korean hospital, and getting a damn shot on the butt. Mum and I went to a hospital nearby home, and I indeed get the shot, which strangely I felt nothing for a change! Later on, I felt 50% better, but still a while to go till I get better. I did go to class again tonight, met up with Kat again, and then went. It was a fun class! Engl 294 (Intro to Creative Writing) will be a fun class. :3
That’s how I pretty much celebrated my birthday. Ew, huh? I know. Yuck.
Early Birthday Celebration

What a fun day.
Met up with Jacquie (we share same birthday), Jeff, Craig, and Robert. The five of us decided to go eat at Sorrento in Itaewon. It was an Italian restaurant. Not a bad place at all. Then we went to this bar which is one of my favourite bars.
During my entire stay there I had:
3 Orgasms
1 Cosmpolitan
1 Chappella
1 Tom Collins
1 shot of Southern Comfort
1 shot of Tequila
A lot huh? I got buzzed after the shot of Tequila, but it wore off QUICKLY. But then again, I think I’m still buzzed! Oh well. I ended up being the “DJ” there for a while, while the rest of the gang who I decided to name “Pool Freaks” played pool.
It was a fun night. Better than I expected aside from certain circumstances.
New TV

The television I had for over 10+ years which is probably even older since I think I got it secondhand from my parents, DIED.
I don’t know how, but it wouldn’t connect to my VCR and all I got was the lovely static crap.
So now daddy hooked up Daewoo’s 19″ tv and it works! I have a tv remote control again! I lost my old one like … years ago. But yeah, I’m happy. Now I don’t have a freaking line through my screen anymore.
XHTML = Boggled Mind

For the last three days now, I’ve been converting Scarred from messy HTML 4.0ish to very picky, yet compatible-for-all-browsers XHTML.
One word to describe converting webpages Before Editpad (BE): HELL!!
Lastly, the one word to describe After Editpad (AE): SAVIOUR!!
