Karaoke Pitch

November 28, 2003 @ 10:01 pm (Permalink)

Had a bad day, but hanging out with Jeff made me feel better.

My voice is dead. I’ve screamed myself out today at No Rae. I’m gonna have a sore throat tomorrow. Goody for me.

Apparently I’ve reached the “pitch” while singing Papa Roach’s Last Resort. Or so Jeff said. And it apparently scared him.

My poor voice… but I do miss No Rae. Jeff, we need to go there more often, PRONTO.

Essaying and Braveheart

November 23, 2003 @ 8:43 pm (Permalink)

Procrastination should definitely be my middle name. Such habits will never be broken. Got a 600 word essay due tomorrow. I am just now starting on it. A stupid C and C essay. Oh well… I get my midterm back tomorrow as well. Hope I did okay on that. On my first essay, I received an A. How cool is that? LOL. But my midterm and this one… eh… late start. Damn procrastination.

I saw Braveheart and I am madly in love with it now. Tried to go get my own copy today, but PX is a dumbass. So I got Chasing Amy instead. Gotta love Kevin … ?? Whathisface… well whatever. Gotta love Jay and Silent Bob. ^_^

But back to Braveheart. Ms. Pell is right. Mel does have a “cute butt”. I am desperately wanting a Scotsman now. I want a Scotsman in long hair, kilt, and the most sexiest accent ever. Oh and knowing how the play the bagpipes PROPERLY wouldn’t hurt either. :3

GAH! I WANT ME A SCOTSMAN! I am madly loving their accents! Scottish accent is the best for me! *huge grin*

*sniffles* I talked to daddy. After his DEROS he said moving to England wouldn’t be bad… though the crime rate is too high for his liking. x_x;; I am trying to convince him to move to Germany or England. It’d be wonderful if we do. Screw the states, ESPECIALLY HAWAII!!! I WANT MY BRITISH ISLES!!!

*ahem* This whole entry was useless. I’ll shut up and go back to my essay and drool about Scotsmen. *walks off like a sad puppy*

Second Day of Subbing

November 18, 2003 @ 9:51 pm (Permalink)

Second day… bleh.

Concert band was easier than I though. Having the student directors helped. I started conducting and then it got way too complicated for me so I handed the job to one of the directors. Thank goodness for that. But they were a good class. Surprisingly. I thought they were going to be the hardest class to manage. Well… managing was fine. Conducting was the hard thing. I need more damn practise.

Seminar… well-behaved, minus some soccer players. And then it was the attack of the choir students. Apparently they got the passes from the choir teacher last week and well she wasn’t in the room. They came through the band room and well… I didn’t kick them out. Tried, but I figured, what the hell. Seemed like some of them were getting ready for some playing test.

Last period. You know how I thought Concert Band was going to be the hardest class to manage? I beg to differ. Seventh period was difficult. That class was the second half of Cadet Band. News got around with my Bingo escapades. Before I go on, let me explain what I did with the other classes.

With the other classes, I began the class with warm-ups and practising music. I did not tell them about Bingo or anything at the beginning. Why? Well if I told them that, then they would have been on their “best behaviour” for all the wrong reasons. That is what I considered “FALSE GOODNESS”. I did not want that. So if the class was good, I’d tell them to put away their instruments and say it’s Bingo time. Then I could really see the class in their true form.

That’s what I wanted to do with the last class. Unfortunately through the gossip mill of school, that was not what happened.

First, couple of the kids had their instruments out but did not play when I warmed them up. Then I read out the “punishment” Mrs. Lee left behind. That got them going for a while. Then they got tired of playing or something and kept asking about Bingo. This one kid said that this one music was too hard and that we skip it. WTF. The Holiday Concert is coming up REAL soon and if they considered that too hard to play, then go back to fucking Beginning Band. That’s what I would have liked to say, but I didn’t.

Then I got pissed and gave them a “talk”. Basically the “talk” was along the lines of “You know. I did not have problems with other classes, but you guys are being real difficult. I don’t know why I should let you play Bingo. I enjoyed playing it with the other classes, minus my headache. I do. I love giving prizes away and everything. But why should I let this class play?”

In the end I let them play, but they had the shortest time frame of the game compared to the other classes. Bleh.

Oh well. Screw them. Though I hope I didn’t overreact too much. We’ll see what Mrs. Lee says tomorrow.

First Day of Subbing

November 17, 2003 @ 9:22 pm (Permalink)

Well I survived the first day with a massive headache as my prize. I think it went alright. Although I am sick and tired of Bingo now after hosting that with three classes. Ugh. I got one more class to play Bingo with… if they are a good class.

Surprisingly, the kids were well behaved. Now Concert Band… whoo boy. I am really not looking forward to that. And I am so glad Bingo is not an option for that class. There is no way in HELL I am going to host a game with 70-80 kids. HELL NO.

Strings were an okay group. Though… it seems like when they played they got easily lost. And I, the conductor, a very bad conductor at that, became lost myself. Blah. But it went well. The middle-school kids are so cute! I want to so pinch this one kid’s cheeks to death. But. *AHEM* That doesn’t seem like an appropriate behaviour, so I better not try.

I made myself look idiotic in Beginning Band. I couldn’t conduct pick-up notes song, so they had to show me how to conduct. Well now I know. Hopefully. But they were an enthusiastic bunch. One of my friend in that class said I had the attitude to be a teacher. O_O;; I highly do not think so. Dedicate my life to teaching? I’d go insane at a very young age. Then again I am already insane, but that’s a different story.

The first half of Cadet Band was pretty fun. The kids are certainly helpful in that class. Especially the front row kids. This class was slightly troublesome. I had kids who took out their cd players and mp3 players. I asked them to put it away and they did. Otherwise, I’d take them for myself, rather than confiscating to the school. XD I am so evil, aren’t I?

So all in all, it was pretty good. Minus the headache. I think Bingo gave me that. I had fun with the words. XD Pronouncing them all sorts of ways. Hee hee! But I still have a headache and I will scream if I hear the word “Bingo” after tomorrow. I certainly will.

Well after tomorrow, I sub for half a day on Wednesday and sub on the 26th. More moola for me! Unfortunately it is going into my college tuition. *sighs and kick money* Money are so damn troublesome! I hate it at many many times.

Anyways, stay tuned for part two. XD

PS — Karey, if I subbed for AP Calculus, I am going to feel like I am in the land of Einstein whereas I am in the land of Barney. So in other words, if I sub for that sort of class, do not expect me to help because with my help, I’d end up helping the class fail rather than pass.

Wishing Myself Luck

November 17, 2003 @ 6:13 am (Permalink)

Today is the first official day I substitute. I guess I should be glad that my first real sub job is for well the same teach I’ve been helping out for the past few months…

So I sub today and tomorrow. All day. 80 something bucks for a full day when really I only receive 70 something after the tax reductions.

I hope I can pull it off… At least I know the kids in the band and string classes…
